the local sports scene
Richmond's loudest building holds about 7,600 people and has sold out its basketball games for the better part of two decades.

The scene
VCU's Siegel Center has one of the longest active sellout streaks in college basketball, and the team's full-court pressing style — Havoc — took the Rams from the First Four to the Final Four in 2011, a run no team had made before. The University of Richmond plays across town at the Robins Center. Richmond Raceway is a three-quarter-mile short track that races under lights, which makes it one of the more watchable stops on the NASCAR calendar.
Rivalries that matter
VCU against Richmond is the city game, between two schools six miles apart with almost nothing else in common.
