the local sports scene
Tampa Bay is the only city whose NFL team has won a Super Bowl in its own stadium.

The scene
The Buccaneers beat Kansas City in Super Bowl LV in February 2021 at Raymond James Stadium, their home ground — no team had done that before. Ten months earlier the Lightning had won the Stanley Cup, and they won it again in 2021, which made Tampa the centre of American sport for about eighteen months. Raymond James Stadium has a 103-foot pirate ship in one end zone that fires its cannons after scores.
Rivalries that matter
Buccaneers against New Orleans and Atlanta are the NFC South constants. The Lightning's playoff series against Boston and the Rangers built the deepest hockey animosity.
Where to watch
Ybor City and the Channel District; Thunder Alley outside the arena fills on hockey nights.
